An Interview with WalletHub Analyst, Jill Gonzalez.

1) First of all, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself, your education and experience?

I’m a Senior Analyst for WalletHub and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University. My take on consumer finance has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Washington Post, Fortune and Kiplinger.

2) Now, what exactly does WalletHub try to do?

WalletHub is a personal finance website that empowers consumers to make better financial decisions, from finding the best credit card to the best cities for job relocation.

3) When was WalletHub started ? And who funds it?

WalletHub was founded in 2008 by our CEO, Oddyseas Papadimitriou. Our company is funded through third party advertising.

4) Is there a main mission or mission statement ?

WalletHub is dedicated to helping people efficiently attain top WalletFitness™ so they can enjoy life instead of worrying about money. To that end, we strive to make the complex simple and to provide each user with a personalized level of care.

5) What seems to be the main issues or concerns confronting Americans? In other words, what do they MOST want to know?

Finances and money are among the top stressors for Americans today. Most of us just want to know how to improve our finances.

7) In this day and age of “fake news” how can one truly trust what one reads?

Always look for the sources used. Our sources, for instance, are largely government organizations without bias.
