Osborn senior, future mogul offers advice to DPS leader

Mar 13, 2016 by

Travon Stearns, a 17-year-old Osborn High School senior, works seven days a week — five days at his parents’ spa and beauty store and two days a week preparing for his future.

And he doesn’t mince words when talking about the Detroit Public Schools.

“I think DPS did the best job it could,” said Travon, who is president of the Osborn senior class and who will attend the University of Michigan to study business administration, economics and political science. “I feel like I’m prepped for college. But I could have been prepped better. I know it wasn’t my teachers’ fault or the administrators’ fault. It was the school system.”

But Travon still supports the schools.
