SAN ANTONIO ISD’S SNEAKY PLAN TO HIDE VOTE ON ALLOWING BOYS AND GIRLS TO SHARE PRIVATE FACILITIES

Sep 11, 2017 by

[9.11.17 — QUESTION FROM DONNA GARNER: If the San Antonio ISD School Board and Administration are so sure that allowing boys and girls to shower, go to the bathroom, and to dress alongside each other is such a great idea, then how come the Board and Administration created such a devious way to hide from the public the vote on this policy?  Most things “done in darkness” are meant to lack transparency.

The Board and Administration do not “own” the thousands of San Antonio school children; the parents do.

The Board and Administration have no right to arbitrarily make decisions that could damage children’s psychological and emotional well-being for the rest of their lives.

I trust that the good people of San Antonio ISD will take back their children from the corrupt people who are running the District and will put in place those people who have a sense of decency and common sense. – Donna Garner]

Parents: San Antonio ISD Bathroom Policy Wasn’t Public

SAN ANTONIO – Taxpayers and community members are demanding to know why virtually no public input was solicited by the San Antonio ISD on a new school policy concerning the most commented-on political issue of the year – privacy in school showers, locker rooms, and restrooms.

Parents and community members concerned about the short timing and vaguely worded notice of a new policy that allows boys in girls’ showers, restrooms, and locker rooms, and perhaps sports teams will gather for a press conference 12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, outside the San Antonio ISD Burnet Center, 406 Barrera St, San Antonio.

After months of heavily covered press conferences and hearings of issues related to schools and sexuality under the Texas Capitol dome, there was only one person who testified before the San Antonio ISD school board. The agenda item was listed as:

  1. Approval of Revisions to Board Policies DIA(LOCAL), FFI(LOCAL), and FFH(LOCAL)

The SAISD Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet Monday evening (a posted agenda was not available at the time of release).

WHO: San Antonio faith & community leaders and parents demanding answers and greater transparency, & local elected officials.
WHAT: Press conference re: new San Antonio ISD shower, locker room, restroom policy
