ITEM #1

Particularly during this busy season of the year, it is hard for people to keep up with their daily responsibilities; however, because we love our children and care about their future, we must try to protect them.

I have to admit that when I heard Sharon Clutter tell her compelling story yesterday on Alice Linahan’s Radio Show, even I was shocked at the incestuous relationship that exists among Obama’s government agencies.

For people who do not have time to listen to the entire podcast, please move the marker to 46:12 (about three-fourths of the way across the video stream bar] where Sharon Clutter explains what is happening in her granddaughter’s private Christian school. The segment takes about 5 to 8 minutes.  When you hear Ms. Clutter’s story in which she explains how Obama’s government agencies are colluding together (EPA, Common Core, utility companies, data collection), you will know why we must do everything we possibly can to stop the Common Core:

ITEM #2

Someone wrote to me yesterday to say that she had just been to Mardel’s which is a bookstore affiliated with the family who owns Hobby Lobby.  This woman said, “I found that many of the workbooks have plastered all across their covers the words MEETS COMMON CORE STANDARDS.”  When we customers see such materials, we need to voice our concerns to the management. Then, too, we need to train our friends and family members to be discerning about the information contained in these workbooks.

ITEM #3

Help is on the way:  I learned yesterday that there is an excellent website —www.TheEducationalFreedomCoalition.org — in which many instructional materials have been ranked according to how deeply (if at all) they are aligned with the Common Core Standards. Unfortunately, CCS is permeating schools across America. It is going to take very vigilant parents at the local level to try to protect their children.

A Beka has taken a wise and principled position regarding Common Core Standards:  http://www.abeka.com/Resources/CommonCore.aspx

ITEM #4

According to reports, Mike Huckabee is positioning himself to run for the Presidency in 2016; and that is evidently the reason he decided to produce a segment in which he discussed the Common Core Standards. Shane Vander Hart of Truth in American Education has written an excellent critique of Huckabee’s disingenuous remarks:

ITEM #5

To help train the public to know what to look for in students’ instructional materials, Bill Ames’ has written an excellent article in which he gives explicit passages and details that illustrate how Obama’s social justice agenda is being driven into students’ classrooms. He uses examples from CSCOPE which is the Texas name for Common Core Standards.  Once a person knows how this indoctrination is occurring, he can train those around him to recognize it.  (12.5.13 – CSCOPE: The Obamacare of Texas Public Education” — http://www.educationviews.org/obamacare-cscope-fixing/   — originally published in Texas Insider — http://www.texasinsider.org/cscope-the-obamacare-of-texas-public-education/#more-77515

ITEM #6

11.11.13 — Actual examples in Common Core English/Language Arts instructional materials for literature and writing (Zaner-Bloser) – indoctrination through social justice activism  — LINK TO YOUTUBE VIDEO:  http://youtu.be/FSHoxWaVeto

First Grade Literature and Writing  – 6 year olds — How to persuade by using emotional words rather than fact-based words  — social justice activism, entitlements, teaching children how to manipulate their parents to get what they want, marginalizing relationships between 6-year olds and their parents

Third Grade Literature and Writing — Student observation form not evaluating a student’s growth and change in literature and writing but in a student’s individual behaviors and attitudes to advocate for social activism, social viewpoints (know when something is unfair, fine-tuned sense of unfairness, recognizing social advocacy, solving group problems)

ITEM #7

12.6.13 – “Obama Announces Nationwide, Federally Funded Muslim Outreach Program for Children Grades K-12” – ConservativeFrontline.com — http://conservativefrontline.com/obama-administration-launches-nationwide-muslim-outreach-program-children-grades-k-12/

A very troubling excerpt from this article:

35-year-old Paul Horner, a teacher at Starks Elementary School in Louisiana, told MSNBC he is excited about the new program [federally funded Muslim outreach program]…”These classes are not mandatory but children can use them [federally funded Muslim outreach program] as extra credit towards other classes. For example, if Becky has a D+ in math she can take a three week after-school class on the Qur’an and would then have an A in Math. That’s a win-win for everyone!”
