Henry Kronberg is living proof that fate, is real.

You want me to tell you what brought me here,” said Henry Kronberg, a 99-year-old Holocaust survivor.

During the Holocaust, he lost contact with his mom and sister.

“I couldn’t find no trace of her, nothing,” he said.

However, 20 years later, something amazing happened.

He found out the sister he lost, survived.

“First thing I say is where does she live, Las Vegas,” he said.

Henry moved to Vegas but even after finding his sister and falling in love with the community, he felt something was missing.

“The one thing they have wanted that they could not get because their lives interrupted in the way that they were, was a diploma,” said Shelley Berkley, CEO and Senior Provost, Touro University

Henry never got the chance to go to college.

Neither did Esther Toporek Finder’s mother and father who are also Holocaust survivors.

She is President of Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada

“I can’t do it for my parents, they are gone but I can do it for our local survivors,” she said.

On Monday, Henry and 19 other local Holocaust survivors will receive honorary doctorates from Touro University Nevada.

For him, it’s the missing piece to his life’s puzzle.

“That I will have some kind of little paper to show that I, I don’t know what I achieved but it’s symbolic for me that I got something. That piece of paper I’m going to frame it and hang on my wall and I’ll be looking (at it) every single day,” Henry said.
