“VOTE NO ON REWRITE OF NCLB (ESSA)”
Yesterday morning, the U. S. House Education and Workforce Committee released to the House members and to the public the 1,059 page bill called Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which is a rewrite of NCLB (http://edworkforce.house.gov/uploadedfiles/every_student_succeeds_act_-_conference_report.pdf).
Paul Ryan, who pressured the House members just a few weeks ago to vote for him as the Speaker, promised them and all Americans that under his leadership there would be transparency.
TWO DAYS TO READ 1,059 PP. OF POLITICAL JARGON IS NOT TRANSPARENCY.
This is the very same tactic that was used to pass ObamaCare, and we all know how many disastrous “clauses” were hidden in those thousands of pages.
Now we have a similar omnibus bill – the ESSA – which has moved so far to the left that chances are high Obama will sign it.
Let’s see who the “cheerleaders” of ESSA are…the owners of Common Core (NGA and CCSS) and the Center for American Progress (a far-left organization closely associated with Obama and Hillary). (Ed Week, 11.30.15 — http://blogs.edweek.org/edweek/campaign-k-12/2015/11/praise_from_governors_state_ch.html?cmp=eml-enl-eu-news2-RM)
Concerned citizens all across the country are frantically trying to read through those 1,059 pages; and so far, these are the concerns located in the Pre-Kindergarten part of the ESSA — https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TAEnetwork/attachments/351874288;_ylc=X3oDMTJycHAxMGY0BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzgyNzI1OTI5BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MDY4MgRzZWMDYXR0YWNobWVudARzbGsDdmlld09uV2ViBHN0aW1lAzE0NDg5ODQxMDc-
The ESSA basically creates Baby Common Core for Pre-K by using the “carrot and stick” approach of offering millions of our tax dollars in grant funds. However, the Baby Common Core is even worse than the original Race to the Top/Common Core because it would require states to implement highly subjective psycho-social standards such as gender identity that would lead to psychological profiling and lifelong data and career tracking of our youngest and most vulnerable children.
We must contact all of our Congressmen (House and Senate) and tell them emphatically that THEY MUST vote “NO” on the NCLB rewrite bills.
