ABOLISH THE FEDERAL DEPT. OF EDUCATION

Subject: ABOLISH THE FEDERAL DEPT. OF EDUCATION — FROM APRIL FEW — USPIE.ORG — 5.16.18

[5.16.18 – COMMENTS FROM DONNA GARNER:  I signed this petition to abolish the U. S. Dept. of Education because I believe the further education decisions are made from the teacher’s desk, the more the unelected special interest groups get their “fingers in the pie.”

Any important duties that the U. S. Dept. of Education presently does can be divided up among the other federal agencies.

Congress also needs to step up and pass legislation that will stop the takeover by the feds of the public schools of our nation. The Common Core Standards Initiative, Race to the Top, ESSA, and many other federally driven programs are destroying our public schools and are thus “abusing our children.”

To see Congressman Thomas Massie’s bill (H. R. 899 Introduced on 2.7.17) to abolish the USDOE, please go to:  https://massie.house.gov/newsroom/press-releases/rep-massie-introduces-bill-to-abolish-federal-department-of-education

Congressman Massie’s bill is one sentence long: “The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2018.”

Hi Donna,

USPIE is petitioning President Trump to do away with the unjust and unethical Federal Department of Education. This is our FIRST step to eliminating ALL federal intrusion in local education. We need 100,000 by June 11th to require a response from his administration.

Would you be willing to share this petition with your people who want to achieve this same goal? Petition Link: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/abolish-federal-department-education-1

I appreciate your consideration!

Best,

Abolish the Department of Education. Bring education back to local teachers and school boards.
