Anti Common Core symposium

The Common Core State Standards Initiative, a set of national education standards, began in New Jersey schools this year, despite much resistance from educators and parents across the state.

Concerned citizens of Southern New Jersey hosted a symposium in Vineland titled, “No more Common Core,” with an agenda to educate parents of students attending public school systems.

The event’s guest speakers gave examples of why the Common Core is bad for New Jersey, claiming it will halt the high performing marks the state already has.

43 states, along with four US territories have adopted the Common Core state standards.
