As Jerusalem Goes So Goes the Possibility of a Dark Future

With the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in Israel – and with the continuing struggle between the Sunni and Shiite Islamists for dominance not only in the region but in the dogma, blood is sure to be spilled. So too will the propaganda machines whir and churn?

Since the official ceremonies to open the new US embassy in Jerusalem, 37 Palestinians have been killed in protests. These are protests that have taken place in Gaza, not Jerusalem. Hamas and many suspect Hezbollah are encouraging and coordinating these protests; protests that goad innocents into doing the bidding of the violently ideological.

The move of the US embassy to Jerusalem was guaranteed to spark unrest in the Middle East. Islamists and non-Islamists have been battling for the Holy Land since the advent of Islam; since the age of the Crusades, which were actions to retake Jerusalem from interloper Islamists. Jerusalem was – and is – a battle between Christianity and Islam; a battle between a religion based on forgiveness and a dogma based on conquest and totalitarian control.

Ayman al Zawahiri, the head of al Qaeda, has called for all Islamists to wage aggressive war against Israel and the West following the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

This event, for the moment, stalls the confrontation between the Sunni (Saudi Arabia) and the Shiite (Iran) for dominance in the region and within the dogma. Iran is making great inroads in Iraq, what with the lead of Moqtada al Sadr in the political polls. Al Sadr is a puppet mullah to the Iranian mullahs. Should al Sadr win it will practically erase any and all political freedoms established by the US and coalition forces in the Iraq War.

With the move of the US embassy to Jerusalem, the Sunni and Shiite (Saudi Arabia and Iran) have an opportunity for hudna (a cessation of hostilities) in order to fight a common foe, Israel, for the age-old struggle of control of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. It is guaranteed that Israel will react firmly and decisively, and the Trump Administration will have Israel’s back, something that wasn’t happening under the Obama Administration.

Events in Israel and the Middle East should be watched very carefully. With all the players in place and with everyone having the ability to wage extremely large campaigns of war, a global conflict is not far from becoming a reality.
