On the Right to Bear Arms

For those teaching social studies, history and civics, one of the issues that comes up is the phrase ” the right to bear arms “. Now, the founding fathers could not have looked down the road and foreseen AK-47, rocket launchers, machine guns and the like and the damage that one mentally ill person could inflict on several other people.  I suspect that the Supreme Court will continue to examine the issue as to whether a person who commits a crime, or a felony or misdemeanor should have a life long ban on their use of a gun or the purchase of a firearm or rifle.  As usual, George Leef has captured most of the issues, and has provided his own perspective on these relevant issue in his latest posting on Forbes, below:
