Title: Giraffes Can’t Dance
By: Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees
Publisher: Orchard Books NY

This is a wonderful tale of Gerald, the Giraffe that somehow had come to the conclusion that he could not dance. There were other animals in the forest that could cha-cha, rumba, tango, and rock and roll, but Gerald seemed to be of the belief that he was unable to dance. He did not do well on ” The Jungle’s Got Dancing Talent”- the yearly event where all the animals showed and strutted their stuff- but he was fortunate enough to later find a cricket and provided some insight for him and nurtured his innate dancing talent and acumen.

This book is wonderfully illustrated and the poems are marvelous and wonderful. I enjoy poetry, children’s books and of course an enchanting story. This book was previously published in England, but I guess is now available here in the colonies as they say. A great Christmas gift for some little boy or girl.
