Brookings Now Just Running Qatari-Iranian Propaganda

Let’s say you’re a state sponsor of Islamic terror with links to 9/11, which prominent American think-tank do you pick up for pennies on the dollar? How about Qatar?

A September New York Times exposé revealed Qatar’s status as the single largest foreign donor to the Brookings Institution. Qatar gave Brookings $14.8 million in 2013, $100,000 in 2012 and $2.9 million in 2011. In 2002, Qatar started subsidizing the Brookings outreach program to the Muslim World which has continues today. Between 2002 and 2010, Brookings never disclosed the annual amount of funds provided by the Government of Qatar.

“If a member of Congress is using the Brookings reports, they should be aware — they are not getting the full story. They may not be getting a false story, but they are not getting the full story.” Ali noted that he had been told during his job interview that taking positions critical of the Qatari government in papers would not be allowed, a claim Brookings vigorously denies.

Since Qatar is now part of the Iranian coalition, Brookings has a hilarious explainer on Iran’s Houthi terrorists in Yemen. “Who are the Houthis, and why are we at war with them?”

You’ll be shocked to learn that Qatar, I mean Brookings, has determined that the Houthis are misunderstood, and far more moderate than Iran, and our backing for the Saudi embargo has aligned them with Iran and Hezbollah. If only we reach out to them… etc

“Two administrations have backed the war against the Houthis without a serious campaign to explain why Americans should see them as our enemies,” writes Bruce Riedel, Senior Fellow – Foreign Policy, Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence,Center for Middle East Policy, Director -The Intelligence Project

Here, let me help Bruce out. The Houthi slogan is, “Allahu Akbar. Death to America! Death to Israel! A curse upon the Jews! Victory for Islam!”

I’m going to go ahead and say that they just might be our enemies.
