California Dreaming and Bureaucratic Scheming — A Working Journalist’s Backup Kit from EducationViews.org. . . .

DEAR WORKING JOURNALIST. . . .

Via the National Center for Educational Statistics, it is public knowledge that a two-year freshman-sophomore 60-unit program only costs $1,916 at a California community college (e.g. Pierce), as opposed to $12,976 for the same courses taken at a nearby state university like Cal State Northridge. Yet CSU administrators consistently refuse to share facts like these with the public and with the press.

By way of remedying this lack, I am appending the titles of five short articles (under 800 words) recently published in EducationView.org which you can access via AUTHORS and copy quickly. If current events are starting to hit you in the face, what’s here may well put you back on the side of the factualistic angels via a citation here and there, along with opening up some new lines of inquiry and investigation. . . . Overall— best wishes and keep swinging. . . . Bob Oliphant
