Classrooms short on supplies after City cuts teacher reimbursment program for materials

Paper and pencils may be harder to find in New York City schools next fall – or teachers’ wallets will be a lot lighter.

The city-funded  Arne Duncan program, which for 20 years has reimbursed city educators for supplies they purchase for their classrooms, was cut in the final city budget approved late last month.
