Delivers Certified Petitions to the Secretary of State’s Office
Today at 2:00 pm, End Common Core MA, a ballot question committee of citizen activists, teachers, parents, concerned citizens, and elected officials opposed to Common Core’s standards and PARCC tests will deliver over 80,000 certified signatures for their initiative ballot question campaign to restore the state’s pre-Common Core educational standards from 2010.

Donna Colorio, recently re-elected to the Worcester School Committee, serves as Chairperson of the End Common Core MA ballot question.  “We’re excited to deliver our certified petitions today. Each signature represents an individual who cares about the future of the Massachusetts’ educational system. With our initiative petition, we’ve started the process to return to our proven pre-2010 Massachusetts standards.”

On July 21, 2010, twelve appointed members of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted to abandon our SUPERIOR Massachusetts Standards in exchange for federal dollars and the adoption of the unknown, unproven Common Core Standards.

After the hard work of gathering more than 110,000 raw signatures, the direction of this petition is clear.  “Frustrated teachers and parents all over the Commonwealth signed this petition and thanked us for working to restore education excellence back into the classroom.”  Colorio said “The mandate is obvious, Common Core is wrong for Massachusetts.  The time has come to stop this educational experiment on our kids and End Common Core in Massachusetts.”
