COVID-19 Needs Survey to be Conducted by Professional Educators of TN

Apr 7, 2020 by

Professional Educators of Tennessee is conducting a COVID-19 Survey to help identify the most significant needs for students and educators. This survey follows US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos new simplified process for providing funding flexibilities during the COVID-19 national emergency.

The US Department of Education’s waiver process allowing states to cancel federally-mandated standardized testing was well-organized. Secretary DeVos has already approved waivers for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The new flexibilities, authorized under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, allows schools to repurpose existing K-12 education funds for technology infrastructure and teacher training on distance learning, and allows further flexibility to move resources to areas of highest need during the national emergency.

We invite all stakeholders to give input to allow Professional Educators of Tennessee to revisit education needs as they rapidly evolve, allowing advocacy to be better focused, and more clearly aligned to assist education programs. Stakeholder input is invaluable in this process to determine the best course of action for advocacy efforts. You can help us by completing this short anonymous survey at The Deadline for completion is 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2020.  Source: COVID-19 Needs Survey to be Conducted by Professional Educators of TN
