When House voted on The Student Success Act (HR 5) on 7.8.15, it passed 218 – 213 (with 27 Republicans joining all Democrats in opposition to the measure).
Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ – Conservative Rating – 87%) introduced an amendment that was adopted by the House, 251-178, one that would allow parents to opt their children out of standardized testing.
