As a woman who came of age in an era in which there were many obstacles to success, I am mindful of women who can be effective in achieving results without fanfare. Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the first lady of Qatar is such a person, working quietly behind the scenes to improve her country.

She has leveraged her public platform to call attention to the importance of education and to prepare Qataris to compete in the global economy. She has done this while building strong communities at home through the development of Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which focuses on building human capital.
