Excerpts from this article:

The Austin school district’s proposed sex education curriculum for middle school students could be in jeopardy even before the school board has a chance to vote on the overhauled lessons next month.

The proposed middle school curriculum, “Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education that Works,” was developed by the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. But a state legislative bill that is expected to become law would prohibit local governments, including school districts, from doing business with Planned Parenthood.

The Texas House gave final approval last week to Senate Bill 22.

State law already bans most tax money from going to Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, but the bill [SB 22] would extend the ban to local governments, prohibiting them from making purchases or other types of transactions to an abortion provider or its affiliates.

School district officials on Monday released drafts of the revised sex education lessons, which for the first time will introduce topics such as sexual orientation, gender identity and sexually transmitted diseases to elementary-age students. The elementary school lessons were written by district staff.

But the “Get Real” curriculum, which is [developed by Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts] published by the behavioral health organization ETR, was chosen for the 10 middle school lessons.

The lessons, for grades six to eight, are inclusive of LGBT and transgender students. They omit references to gender, specifically from discussions about anatomy, according to the ETR website listing updates to the curriculum’s second edition.

The district for months has been revamping its Human Sexuality and Responsibility curriculum and had planned to introduce the new curriculum next year. Austin school trustees were slated to vote on the new curriculum June 17, but district officials said that now it is unclear whether they can move forward.

“It would seem highly unlikely that we would be in a position to vote for something next month, given the circumstances,” said Trustee Cindy Anderson. “Even if it hasn’t, at that point in time, been approved by the governor, it’s certainly likely to happen.”

The district’s legal counsel is evaluating the language in the bill to determine whether the district could still use the proposed curriculum, anticipated to give an interpretation of whether a contract with the group for the sex education curriculum will be permissible under that law, said district spokeswoman Patricia Fraga. If not, the district may need to start over its process to search for a new source of material or to write their own.

We’re sadly allowing Margaret Sanger’s dream of eugenics to survive. I’m sure Sanger is in hell where she belongs.
Home schooling. End abortion and stop contributing to delinquency of innocent children with the leftist perversion.
