donna_garnerUPDATE ON 2.4.13 – Please do call the Boy Scouts of America phone number:  972-580-2000.  It may ring for quite a while, but do not give up.  When a person answers, please be sure to register your concerns.  The staffer told me that there is now a way to post your written concerns, too.  Please go to and click on “Share Your Feedback.”  I posted my article there (published yesterday).  Remember that the BCA board is meeting today through Wednesday to make their decision. – Donna Garner

ACTION STEP: Please call the Boy Scouts of America national office and ask them to disallow homosexual scout masters: 972-580-2000.  Also, if possible, please attend the Save Our Scouts Prayer Vigil and Rally on Wednesday, 2.6.13, at 10:00 A. M. – 12:00 noon, Boy Scouts of America National Headquarters, 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, TX.

Because the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have had to endure years of legal costs and the pressure of two corporate CEO’s who are on the BSA board (Randall Stephenson of AT&T and James Turley of Ernst & Young), the BSA is considering a policy to allow local councils to allow open homosexuals to serve as scout masters.

Why does this change in policy matter?

FACT #1:  Those in the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community like to say that homosexuals comprise 10% of the population, but recent studies show that homosexuals make up only 3% of the population; yet these 3% are committing 33% of the sex crimes against children.

FACT #2 – From Paul D. Cameron, author of Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse

( ):  The scientific, medical literature is clear that pedophilia is connected to homosexuality.  Obviously, by definition male homosexuals are sexually attracted to other males. A disproportionate number of gay men seek adolescent males or boys as sexual partners.

FACT #3 — “From 2005-2008…Most (74%) diagnoses of HIV infection in adults and adolescents were in males. Among males diagnosed with HIV infection from 2005-2008, 70% were attributed to male-to-male sexual contact. The percentage of diagnosed HIV infections attributed to male-to-male sexual contact was even larger (85%) among males aged 13 to 24 years…”

Gov Rick Perry: Boy Scouts shouldn’t change policy excluding gays

By Ciara O’Rourke

American-Statesman Staff

Excerpts from this article:

As the Boy Scouts of America reconsiders excluding gays as Scouts or leaders, Gov. Rick Perry said Saturday that most people see no reason to change the policy.

“And neither do I,” he said…

Responding to a reporter’s question about whether a change in policy could teach children about tolerance and diversity, Perry countered that Scouts already learn that every day.

“Scouting is about teaching a substantial amount of life lessons,” he said. “Sexuality is not one of them, never has been, doesn’t need to be.”

Perry said it would be inappropriate for the organization to conform to popular culture…

He reminisced about how Scouting opened a world to him beyond his childhood farm in Paint Creek and led him to Texas A&M, the military and public service.

But he warned the children that living up to the values of Boy Scouts takes courage — to defend their ideals, their faith and their values.

He said that society has wrongly entertained the idea that living by a moral code is intolerant and [society has ] shied from admitting that there are absolute rights and wrongs.

“In a world that sometimes doesn’t make sense, the values of the Boy Scouts of America were built on a bastion of common sense,” he said…
