Hundreds of teachers hold rush-hour protest in downtown Chicago streets [VIDEO]

With Chicago public schools on spring break, a well-planned protest by the Chicago Teachers Union snarled rush-hour traffic on Wednesday evening — and brought on an impressive police presence.


The teachers and their supporters were protesting the announced closings of 54 schools in an effort to bring financial stability to the city’s public school system, which currently faces a devastating budget shortfall.
