A new case this week again involved social media. A 28-year-old teacher at Westlake High School in Austin allegedly had sex with a student she met on a missionary trip and another she met at a summer camp. Haeli Wey sent at least one of the 17-year-old victims lewd messages and nude photos and warned him to delete their interactions from social media, according to police reports.

According to the Austin-American Statesman, the number of inappropriate teacher-student relationships reported to the Texas Education Agency reached a seven-year high during the 2014-2015 school year.
