Lawsuit Against Attorney General Healey and Secretary of the Commonwealth Galvin an Attempt to Deny Citizens’ Right to Vote
On Friday, eleven plaintiffs filed a civil suit against Attorney General Maura Healey and Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin claiming the nature of the End Common Core Referendum was illegal.

In response, End Common Core Massachusetts said it is evident that the civil suit filed filed Friday against Healey and Galvin to invalidate the End Common Core Ballot Referendum is a desperate ploy to stall the petition’s positive momentum.

The plaintiffs have charged in two counts that Healey approved a petition that “is not written in the proper form for submission to the people” and “the petition contains subject(s) that are not related or mutually dependent.”

End Common Core MA Chairman Donna Colorio said that this same complaint was made to the Attorney General while the petition language was being reviewed for approval in August.

“They already tried to stop this last summer and they failed.  Now they are trying to tie this matter up in court and deny citizens the right to vote on this important question,” she said.
