Michael F. Shaughnessy –

Every once in a while something really new, novel, divergent, and (gasp! ) educationally relevant and helpful comes along that I would like to discuss.

Super Duper has these “Quick Take Along“ mini books. They are small, colorful, yet chock full of all kinds of educational experiences and they address not only speech language issues but other realms. Let me provide a run down in ( yikes ! ) alphabetical order :

Articulation

Articulation Phrases and Sentences

Auditory Processing

Critical Thinking

Grammar

Phonology

Vocabulary

WH Questions

Each one of these little booklets can be put into an knapsack that kids can review on the bus, on the playground, waiting in line in the cafeteria, or just lounging around the house.

These little mini books were done by Natalie E. Snyders, Rynette R. Kjesbo,Liz Wright, Amber Hodgson ( Critical Thinking ) , Kevin Stuckey (Auditory Processing)  and Erin Rojas ( WH questions).  These little gems each contain a literal wealth of material and are perfect for long or even short car trips (Parents- are you listening—Christmas is coming up and these mini books would make great stocking stuffers.

In this day and age, when speech language pathologists seem to have ever increasing caseloads, these mini books are great supplementary materials that students can use for practice and or review.
