At ‘woke’ medical schools, curricula are increasingly focused on social justice rather than treating illness.

The American College of Physicians says its mission is to promote the “quality and effectiveness of health care,” but it’s stepped out of its lane recently with sweeping statements on gun control. And that isn’t the only recent foray into politics by medical professionals. During my term as associate dean of curriculum at the University of Pennsylvania’s medical school, I was chastised by a faculty member for not including a program on climate change in the course of study. As the Journal reported last month, such programs are spreading across medical schools nationwide.

Why have medical schools become a target for inculcating social policy when the stated purpose of medical education since Hippocrates has been to develop individuals who know how to cure patients?

A new wave of educational specialists is increasingly influencing medical education. They emphasize “social justice” that relates to health care only tangentially. This approach is the result of a progressive mind-set that abhors hierarchy of any kind and the social elitism associated with the medical profession in particular.

These educators focus on eliminating health disparities and ensuring that the next generation of physicians is well-equipped to deal with cultural diversity, which are worthwhile goals. But teaching these issues is coming at the expense of rigorous training in medical science. The prospect of this “new,” politicized medical education should worry all Americans.

Yes, there is much wrong with government control of education. Well, actually all of government control of our lives is an affront and rejection of Jehovah God who gave us free will, freedom to choose. Political government is the bane of humanity; politics is violence; it is not Christian. Voting is an act of violence. Using force to impose one’s views, opinions, beliefs or “false gods” is immoral, unethical and just plain diabolical. Ask the Marc Stevens/Lysander Spooner Question: “What factual evidence do you, judge, prosecutor, politician, IRS agent, policeman or anyone, have that the constitution and “law” apply to me just because I am physically present in some state such as commie/socialist, Democrat tyrannized corruptifornia?” It doesn’t exist and never has else we would be stinkin’ slaves on the plantation state run by slop-at-the-trough, suck-at-the-golden-teat, parasitic masters/politicians and their overseers/judges/enforcers in the “land of the free and home of the brave.” How diabolically ironic is that? And yet people persist in voting. Go figure.

Treating symptom and neglecting the root cause will not effect a healing of the “patient.” Politicians have been treating symptoms of the “disease” that is destroying Amerika for over a century. If politicians were honest they would have self-terminated long ago. If indeed the medical school managers are treating symptoms of the “cancer” by dealing with social justice, then the human patients are the worse for it. Stupid is as stupid does. Surprise, surprise, surprise as Gomer Pyle might say. Amerikans have bought the commie/socialist, Satanic lies and turned their backs on Jehovah God; not all mind you but the majority. Amerika is being destroyed from within as was predicted.
