“Tex. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s Plea to Gov. Abbott: Call Special Session”

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick just sent out a plea to Gov. Greg Abbott to call a special session of the Texas Legislature to make sure that three pieces of the GOP-backed legislation get passed.

Last night the Dems deliberately “chubbed” or slow-walked bills by bringing up meaningless comments on the House floor to make sure that the midnight deadline “killed” the three GOP-priority bills.

The three GOP-priority bills are (1) SB 29 which seeks to ban men (a.k.a., transgender students) from playing on girls’ sports teams, (2) SB 10 which prohibits local governments from using taxpayer dollars to pay for lobbyists, and (3)  SB 12 that would punish social media companies from censoring Texans based upon their political viewpoints.
