Trump electoral vote landslide will shock left

Nov 2, 2020 by

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich examined a map showing President Donald Trump receiving 326 electoral votes and said the left will be utterly surprised to see their Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden buried in a landslide on November 3.

“He has a better likelihood than he did at this stage in 2016, when he was clearly behind and closing rapidly,” Gingrich told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in an interview Wednesday night, according to RealClearPolitics. “The people I trust the most [are] the pollsters that have been the most accurate over the last five or six years who seem to understand the dynamics of the age of Trump.”

Analyzing the trend

With most polls showing Biden with double-digit leads – similar to those held by the last Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, four years ago – Gingrich is convinced that the left is in for another election day shocker.

“I saw today the first electoral college map that made sense to me, and it showed Trump at 326 electoral votes plus,” the former Republican presidential nominee explained, which would leave Biden with just 212 votes. “I think that is probably about right. I think the left is going to be terribly shocked.”

He believes that Trump’s numerous rallies before election day, compared to Biden seeking refuge in his basement as he “hides,” will be responsible for the results pouring in the Republican’s favor at the ballot box.

“I actually think … it comes down to something which is psychological – not ideological,” Gingrich expressed. “In the end, as you watched these two candidates campaigning, I think it’s coming down to sort of a bunny rabbit hiding in a basement protected by the news media and a bear who is wandering around on the stage courageously without fear.”

He hunkered down on the primary duty of the President of the United States – to protect the citizens.

“If you think the world is dangerous – whether the dangers are riots in Philadelphia or the dangers are the Chinese communists – you probably want a bear that is strong enough to defend you, and not a bunny rabbit that has to be protected by the news media,” Gingrich continued. “I think every day that Biden hides and Trump goes out and campaigns, the psychological message being driven to the American people is really deeper than just ideology or partisanship – it says one guy has the guts, the willingness, the toughness to actually be out here, taking on things including COVID.”

The conservative personality impressed Biden’s reluctance to stand on his own two feet and fight his own battles – as his advisers, the mainstream media and the entire Democratic Party shield the former vice president from all scandals and criticism.

“The other guy is hiding, frightened, hoping the news media will save him because he can’t possibly save himself, and I think that sinks in, and I think that’s why you are seeing in virtually every poll I trust, we’re seeing a steady drift towards Trump and away from the undecided … and away from sort of leaning towards Biden, but not sold,” Gingrich concluded. “My personal bet is it will lead to a surprising majority for Trump.”

I second that …

Gingrich’s analysis also has also gained resonance with the conservative media, which senses a continuing trend from the weeks and months before the 2016 election.

“These liberal outlets are oversampling Democrats, ignoring Trump Democrats, not accounting for fewer young voters turning out, and including way too many college-educated voters to craft a narrative that this country holds a D+15 electorate – it’s just not true,” Townhall’s Matt Vespa argues. “Trump Democrats are being ignored, rural Republicans are being bypassed … The suburban cohort of the GOP – sure – they’re the squishiest and most vocally anti-Trump of the group.”

He mentioned other contributing factors that can shift things away from the left-leaning media’s narrative of the upcoming election.

“At Trump’s rallies, around 25% of the attendees didn’t vote in 2016, [and] some firms haven’t even moved off from registered voter samples – it’s a train wreck,” Vespa pointed out. “Biden is supposedly ahead by double-digits, which his camp says is not true. They’re admitting the polls are inflated, which could also be a ploy to keep their base anxious and ready to vote. They don’t want complacency to settle in like it did in 2016, yet, the rule hasn’t changed: never underestimate anything when Trump is on the ballot and at the top of the ticket.”

The left learning from history …

Even ultra-left-leaning filmmaker Michael Moore is fearing that the Democrats and the mainstream media haven’t learned from history – a mere four years ago – saying that Biden’s seven-point lead over Trump in his home state of Michigan was “awful news,” before mentioning that the president slashed Biden’s lead “in half” and doubting the results of one poll that gave the Democrat a 16-point lead.

“Trump has tightened virtually every one of these swing states to the point where – what are they saying this morning?… ‘Biden’s five points ahead in Wisconsin… maybe three points ahead in Florida, two points ahead in Arizona’… Listen, don’t believe these polls,” Moore pointed out during an appearance on The Hill TV’s Rising program. “The Trump vote is always being undercounted. Pollsters – when they actually call the Trump voter, the Trump voter is very suspicious of the ‘Deep State’ calling them and asking them who they’re voting for.”

He said Trump supporters view polls as “fake news” generated by the left-leaning mainstream media and its affiliates.

“So, it is not an accurate count,” Moore said of Biden’s substantial lead in polls from states across the country. “I think the safe thing to do – this is not scientific – whatever they’re saying the Biden lead is, cut it in half, right now, in your head. Cut it in half, and now you’re within the four-point margin of error. That’s how close this is! That’s how desperately close this is!”

Moore – who was one of the few on the left who predicted Trump would win the 2016 election – called Trump an “evil genius” for finding ways to win the election – and the Oscar-winning documentarian has the same take on the election now that he had back in August.

“I’m warning you almost 10 weeks in advance – the enthusiasm level for the 60 million in Trump’s base is OFF THE CHARTS! For Joe, not so much,” the Oscar-winning documentarian posted on Facebook in August, according to Fox News. “Don’t leave it to the Democrats to get rid of Trump. YOU have to get rid of Trump. WE have to wake up every day for the next 67 days and make sure each of us are going to get a hundred people out to vote. ACT NOW!”
